"There is a certain mystique to Curse that makes this record delectable, worth many a spin and demanding that you revisit even later. It distills some magical elements of second wave black metal and thrash into a satisfying whole and you can't miss out on that!"

"Curse plays a musical style that takes the raw and melodic sides of Swedish black metal and mixes it with thrash metal to create a sound of their own. " - 8/10

Keeping the spirit of Sweden’s metal pedigree burning brightly amidst a beaten path of imitators, CURSE offer slice after slice of blackened death from the bloody, frozen sword of its forefathers. Mending the precision of thrash with the disdain and ferocity of death with a careful nod to metal traditions, this savage beast calculatingly stalks from track to track attacking the senses at every sharp turn. Demanding you recognize the rebirth of the homeland of extreme music deities, these tracks act as a stark reminder of how to make extreme metal matter again.
Hailing from Sweden, the Blackened Thrash Metal band CURSE was born in 2011 by vocalist and guitarist PJ and drummer F. After a few shows and a demo tape in 2012, entitled 'Spawn of Hatred', the band went on hold indefinately... Fortunately for us, in the Autumn of 2018, CURSE was reborn after connecting with who would become the second guitarist M. Snake and bassist J.
Getting to work rather quickly, by the next Fall (2019), the band had enough material written and recorded a live demo called “The Awakening..and the Old”. Now with the assistance of Redefining Darkness Records this EP is ready to be unleashed upon the world. With heavy Black Metal influences from the likes of Aura Noir, Marduk, Craft, and Nifelheim, one can also easily hear the Thrash influence of bands like early Kreator, Sodom, and Slayer..
